Meet the Team

  • Dr Hanaa Amaidia

    CO-FOUNDER

    Salam Alykum!

My name is Hanaa and I’m one of the Co-founders of Hawaa Empowerment. I'm a resident doctor with a passion for Women's empowerment and Mental Health.

Hawaa stemmed from witnessing many problems Muslim women face both within and outside the community. We wanted to create safe spaces where women could excel audaciously by adopting a God-centric approach to life.

  • Dr Nazia Ali

    CO-FOUNDER

    Salam Alaykum!

My name is Nazia and I’m the co-founder of Hawaa Empowerment. I’ve also just started working as a GP registrar in the NHS.

Hawaa Empowerment is a project that is so close to my heart because we aim to tackle issues that all Muslim women face. It is so fulfilling to be part of a team full of inspirational women hoping to create a space for all women to excel.

  • Dr Amina Mushtaq

    SECRETARY

    Assalamu Alaikum!

I’m Amina and I’m the secretary for Hawaa Empowerment. I’m currently working as a resident doctor.

I joined Hawaa because I resonated greatly with the aim of Hawaa; I have a passion for mental health and want to help build a support network that encourages Muslim women to be proactive in facing the issues that we as a community face.

  • Hadil Omar

    TEAM ADVISOR

    Assalamu alaykum!

I'm Hadil, one of the advisors at Hawaa Empowerment. Wellbeing and its benefits is something central to my life and the work I do, within the mental health field.

The initial open conversations Hawaa used to host before Hawaa became what it is today showcased openness and freedom of judgement. These conversations embodied growth, understanding and respectfully disagreeing and is what led me to want to be a part of Hawaa.

  • Hafsah Mustafa

    EVENT OFFICER

    Salam!

I’m Hafsah, I am a pharmacist and I chose to be part of Hawaa because of their goal to empower women regardless of their background and ethnicity.

I want to help create a safe space for women to come together and be able to succeed, without being judged by society.
