Sexual Abuse in Ethnic Communities Workshop

Hawaa Empowerment is an organisation by and for women, with the core message of empowering Muslim women to excel audaciously. At Hawaa empowerment we firmly believe that individual healing is linked to societal healing, hence our passion for addressing taboo experiences, one of which is sexual abuse.

Please join us for our interactive workshop delivered by doctors, phycologists, therapists and legal professionals. Our aim is to equip our audience with relevant skills and guidance in the journey to overcome sexual abuse. We will provide a safe confidential space, taking all precautions, to discuss different avenues to access support, teach helpful communication skills, discuss legal support and much more.

Our event is not only aimed at survivors but also for professionals who may encounter sexual abuse in their line of work, and who want to become more aware of sensitivities when dealing with individuals from different cultures and religions.

In collaboration with Zahra Awaiz-Bilal from Bolt Burdon Kemp and Waheeda Islam from Nour Domestic Violence.

Refreshments and certifications of attendance will be provided.
